My Refund Ltd – Refer a Friend Promotion Terms and Conditions as at 02/02/2026
1) Promoter
This promotion is run by My Refund Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”).
2) Promotion period
The promotion starts at 12:00am NZDT on 2 February 2026 and ends at 11:59pm NZST on 30 April 2026 (“Promotion Period”).
After the Promotion Period ends, we allow a 7-day linking period to identify and confirm eligible applications received during the Promotion Period (“Linking Period”).
The final day we will issue referral payments is Wednesday, 8 April 2026 (“Final Payment Date”).
3) Definitions
Active Client means a client who has an active account/engagement with us at the time a referral payment is due to be paid (as determined by us).
Referral Code means a unique code issued by us to an Active Client that can be shared with others.
Referred Person means a person who submits an application using a Referral Code.
Eligible Application means an application submitted during the Promotion Period that we can successfully link to the Referred Person’s IRD account and that meets these Terms.
Successful Referral means an Eligible Application that we can successfully attribute to the referrer via the Referral Code.
4) Who can participate
Referrers: Only Active Clients may receive referral payments.
Referred People: Anyone may apply using a Referral Code, provided they meet our usual service requirements and we can successfully link them to their IRD account.
5) How the promotion works
An Active Client receives a Referral Code from us.
The Active Client may share the Referral Code with as many people as they like.
A Referred Person must submit an application during the Promotion Period and include the Referral Code (or otherwise ensure the code is captured in the application process).
If we can successfully link the Referred Person’s application to their IRD account and to the Referral Code, it becomes a Successful Referral.
6) Referral payment amounts and tiers
Referral payments are calculated per referrer based on the number of Successful Referrals attributed to that referrer during the Promotion Period.
Tiered payment rates:
$10 NZD per Successful Referral for referrals 1–10
$15 NZD per Successful Referral for referrals 11–20
$20 NZD per Successful Referral for referrals 21–33
Maximum payout:
The maximum total referral payment per referrer under this promotion is $510 NZD (maximum 33 Successful Referrals).
Important notes:
Payments are calculated per referrer, per Referral Code that is successfully linked to Eligible Applications.
Unsuccessful, incomplete, duplicate, fraudulent, or un-linkable applications do not qualify.
7) When and how payments are made
Referral payments are issued Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays each week (NZ time), once eligibility is confirmed.
Payments are made to the referrer using the payment method we have on file.
The referrer must be an Active Client at the time payment is processed to receive payment.
The Final Payment Date for this promotion is Wednesday, 8 April 2026.
8) Linking and eligibility checks
A referral is only counted when we can successfully link the application to the Referred Person’s IRD account and attribute it to the referrer’s Referral Code.
We may require reasonable information to validate eligibility (for example, confirming the Referral Code used, application timestamps, and linking outcome).
Our linking and attribution decision is final, acting reasonably and in good faith.
9) Referral codes for new clients
Any new client whose application we successfully link to their IRD account will be issued their own Referral Code, at our discretion.
Receiving a Referral Code does not guarantee referral payments; referral payments apply only when the client is an Active Client and all Terms are met.
10) Fair use and conduct
The promotion is intended for genuine referrals. We may withhold or reverse referral payments (including refusing to count referrals) if we reasonably believe there has been:
fraud, misuse, manipulation, or gaming of the promotion
bulk/fake applications or self-referrals
tampering with the application process
harassment, spam, or misleading conduct when promoting the code
any breach of these Terms or our standard service terms
11) Privacy
We will handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and our privacy policy.
Due to privacy obligations, we are not able to provide referrers with details about a Referred Person’s application or IRD linking outcome, beyond what is necessary to explain referral status.
12) Changes, suspension, or termination
To the extent permitted by law, My Refund Ltd may:
amend these Terms,
suspend or cancel the promotion,
or delay payment processing due to operational or technical reasons,
provided we act reasonably. Changes will not unfairly affect referrals already validated as Successful Referrals.
13) Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (if applicable) or the Fair Trading Act 1986. Otherwise, to the extent permitted by law, My Refund Ltd is not liable for any loss arising from participation in the promotion, including where a referral cannot be tracked or linked.
14) Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
